What is DVI?

DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface. It is used to convert analog signals into digital signals to work with both analog and digital monitors. In laymen terms, older CRT monitors were analog devices that needed analog input. In the case of LCD monitors, they are digital devices that need digital input. Using DVI instead of the traditional VGA connector means improved signal quality -- instead of having the LCD monitor convert the analog input into a digital signal, it receives the monitor signal already digitized.
